Private graveside services, at her request, will be held at the Sharptown Church Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by H.T. Layton Funeral Home in Woodstown.

Thelma “Leora” Rishel, 97, of Elmer, was called home on Saturday, June 20, 2026, comfortably with family at her side.

Leora was predeceased by her parents, Edna and Charles, brothers, Harold and Norman. Aunt Lee is currently now survived by a plethora of nieces and nephews.

Born in Sharptown, NJ Leora worked at Owens Illinois in Glassboro before moving to Florida, and then California, where she had a long career as a data processor for Pan American Airlines. After retirement, Leora moved back to New Jersey.

Leora was an avid hiker and traveler, who visited many countries and continents, where she accumulated many photos and artifacts as mementos.
