Stephen E Landis Sr.

April 28, 1950 - September 22, 2026

A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at the Laughrey Funeral Home, One North Broadway, Pennsville, NJ, where friends and family may call from 6:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be private.

Stephen E. Landis, Sr. has gone home to be with the Lord. Steve passed on September 22nd, 2026. Steve had been a resident of Complete Care of Voorhees for the last 2 years. He suffered a stroke on Sunday, September 13th and passed away, peacefully, at the Samaritan Center of Mt Holly.

Steve was born and raised in Pennsville, NJ in 1950, to Earl Landis and Iva Jean (Jackel). He attended Pennsville Memorial HS, and married his high school sweetheart, Mickey Miller, and had 1 son, Steve, Jr. He graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute and worked all his life as a welder. He had to retire early due to Parkinson’s Disease.

Steve was one of the hardest working men you’d ever have the pleasure to meet. He would do anything to lend a hand to anyone who was in need. He bought a large piece of property just outside of Bridgeton and built his dream home in the woods.

Once known as a bit of a rabble rouser in his youth, Steve found the Lord in the early 1980s and was saved. He attended Ambassador Baptist Church on Hook Rd in Pennsville for many years. His handy work can still be seen with the wrought iron handrails that still grace the church’s handicap entry ramp.

Steve is survived by his son, Steve, Jr. and wife, Olivia. Grandchildren Emma, Isaac, Jonah, and Benjamin. His sister, Joan Dickens, and his brothers Ray Landis and Michael Landis, along with many nieces and nephews.
