A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, May 29th in the St. Joseph’s RC Church, 51, Broad St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 10 AM until the time of Mass. Samuel Nicholas Guida, age 91 of Pedricktown, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in his home with his family by his side.

Born in Auburn on October 17, 1934 to Nicholas & Isabella (Sarricchio) Guida, Sam was raised in Pedricktown. He attended Auburn School, was a graduate of Woodstown High School, earned his BS in Social Studies at Villanova, and earned his Master’s degree in Social Work at Rutgers. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Sam worked for the State of New Jersey in Trenton with the mentally disabled, worked 38 years with HEW, later HHS in various roles, the last being with Medicare and Medicaid in Washington DC and later in Baltimore. He was active with the Boy Scouts when his children were growing up, he was a member of the Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit Church in Woodstown, a member of the Mother of Grace Lodge, and a member of the Salem County Sportsmen’s Club.

Sam is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon (Hancuff) Guida; his children, Marta, Maria, Nicholas, Robert (Brenda), and Samuel; his grandchildren, Thomas, Joseph, Chase, Steven, Quinton, Isabella, Nicholas, Maria, Anna, Desi, Nino, Liam, Curry, Wyatt, Austin, Victor, and Jacquelyn; and his great-grandchildren, Madeline, Emmarose, Olive, Elijah, and Samson.
