Robert Lee “Bob” Fisher, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026. Born on November 27, 1945, in Woodbury, New Jersey, Bob lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family and community.
A graduate of Pennsville Memorial High School Class of 1963, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy following graduation. He went on to dedicate 26 years to law enforcement as a respected police officer with the Pennsville Police Department, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. After retirement, he continued his commitment to public service through 20 years of work with the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office.
Bob was well known and well liked by many. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose greatest joy came from the people he loved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and was a loyal Philadelphia sports fan through the years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Diehl Fisher; his children, Michael (Pam) Fisher, Greg Fisher, Brooke Catapano, and Justin Catapano; his cherished grandchildren, Kaden Shoemaker and Karsen Shoemaker; his sister, Charlene Haupt; sisters-in-law, Patricia Zane and Margaret “Peg” Vanneman; along with several beloved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Florence and Albert Zane, and Charles W. Fisher; his brother, Albert “Sam” Zane; his brothers-in-law, Dan Haupt and John C. Diehl, Jr.; and his sister-in-law, Donna Newsome.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, loyalty, sense of humor, and dedication to family and friends will be remembered always.
