Lois Lillian Tinklepaugh, 95, lovingly called Mom Mom by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, after a brief stay at Inspira Hospital in Mannington and Autumn Lake Healthcare in Carney’s Point, NJ. She was born in Milwaukee, WI to George and Myrtle (Anderson) Kessler. The family moved to Pennsville when she was about five years old where she was a resident for the next 90 years.
Lois is predeceased by her husband Archie W. Tinklepaugh and her siblings George Kessler, Paul Kessler and LaVerne Martin BrandriX. Lois is survived by her three children Debra Braxton (Larry) of Woodstown, NJ, Paul Tinklepaugh (Pauletta) of Wilmington, DE and Bill Tinklepaugh (Peggy) of Annandale, VA. She is also survived by four grandchildren and their spouses Megan Tinklepaugh, Adam Tinklepaugh, Brian Tinklepaugh all of Annandale, VA and Anna Tinklepaugh of Los Angeles, CA. Her five great grandchildren Ava Tinklepaugh, Margo Tinklepaugh, Emma Tinklepaugh, Hannah Tinklepaugh and Lewis Tinklepaugh range in age from six months to seventeen years old.
Lois worked for the Pennsville School District, as a bus driver, where she made lifelong friendships and many now grown up children remember her fondly as their driver on daily runs, sporting events or exciting field trips. Later she worked as a toll taker for the Delaware Memorial Bridge where she was affectionately known by many as the Mother of the Bridge for her years of dedicated service.
True to her nature, she collected friends and brought people together. She baked birthday cakes, cookies and thousands of chocolate peanut butter cups which she joyfully shared with friends and family. Christmas was her favorite holiday season where she created a Christmas wonderland in her home and shared her chocolate treats bringing joy to everyone.
Lois was quick to offer a helping hand to anyone needing assistance and generous with her time and resources. In her quiet and unassuming way, she touched the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people in a very positive way. With an infectious laugh and always a kind word, she was a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, co-worker and friend who will be deeply missed but never forgotten. RIP Mom Mom.
