Kenneth "Shag" Henson, Jr.

February 12, 1945 - September 21, 2026

Family and friends may visit on Friday, October 2nd at Woodside Funeral Home, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (located in Quinton Twp.) from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM. Interment will take place at 12:30 PM at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.

Kenneth “Shag” Henson, Jr., passed away Monday, September 21st 2026. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Kenneth Henson, Sr. and Alfrieda Hunter Henson.

Shag was a New Jersey State Trooper retiring after 26 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #138 of Woodstown and he enjoyed playing golf.

Shag is survived by his daughters, Erin Young (Scott) of Pennsville, Kimberly Rose Keen (Rob) of Florida and Gwendolyn Green of Florida; his brother, Hank R. Davenport of Pennsville; his grandson, Colton Phillips; his good friend, Tracey Russell and her daughter and grandson, Kandis Cleary and Logan. He is predeceased by his wife, Dorothea Zane Henson.
