Karen L. Nicholas, 72, of Pennsville, passed away on October 7, 2026. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Karen was the daughter of Edward and Patricia Press.

After graduating from Pennsville High School, Karen continued her education at Salem Community College, where she earned her LPN, and later attended Gloucester County College, where she earned her RN. She dedicated her career to caring for others and most recently worked as at Riverview Estates.

Karen is survived by her children, Andrew Nicholas and his wife, Christine, John Nicholas Jr., Renee Richards, and Audrey Nicholas and her husband Trevor Calhoun; her grandchildren, Anthony Richards, Alyssia Richards, Alley Dupper, Aubrey Dupper, Olivia Lewis, Jury Calhoun, Vivienne Nicholas, and Scarlett Nicholas; and her three great-grandchildren, Anely, Alex, and Nicholas. She is also survived by a very dear friend, Frank “Lloyd” Richards, the father of Renee.

Karen was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Sharon Holmberg, and her beloved husband, John Nicholas.
