Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11am at H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 South Main Street, Woodstown, New Jersey. A visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial services will follow at Salem County Veterans Cemetery, 719 Route 45, Pilesgrove, New Jersey 08098, where military honors will be rendered. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the County of Salem Veterans Trust Fund, 110 5th St., Suite 900, Salem, NJ 08079.
Glendon W. Lodge Sr., 82, of Woodstown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on November 14, 1943, in Salem, New Jersey, Glendon lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and a quiet strength that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty and commitment.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
Glendon spent many years at DuPont Chambers Works, retiring in 2005 with a career to be proud of and the admiration of those he worked alongside.
Deeply involved in his community, Glendon played an important role in the early formation of the Pennsville Soccer Club and served as president of the Pennsville Youth Soccer Association. He later continued his involvement through the Gloucester County Youth Soccer Association, helping to grow the game and positively impact countless young athletes. He was also a member of the Woodstown Moose Lodge (No. 932).
He will be remembered for his kind and caring nature, his quick wit, and his natural charm that could light up any room. Glendon had a special way of making people feel comfortable and valued, and his presence brought joy to those around him. He also loved spending time with his family at the beaches of Ocean City, New Jersey, especially walking the boardwalk and playing pinball with his boys. He enjoyed playing golf with his beloved wife, Patti, and taking trips to the casinos in Atlantic City.
He was predeceased by his parents, Glendon and Margaret; his sister, Susan; and his son, Glendon Lodge Jr. (Danine). He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his son, Gregory (Joan); and his stepchildren, Seth (Melanie), Aaron (Amanda), and Josh (Jackie). He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Trevor, Joan “Molly,” Elizabeth, Gavin, Sara, Asher, Nathan, Maggie, and Eva; and his great-grandchild, Natalie.
Glendon Lodge Sr. will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
