Christopher Mark Mumink

December 17, 1966 - November 2, 2026

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Laughrey Funeral Home, LLC, One North Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070, where friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be private.

Christopher Mark Mumink, born December 17, 1966, passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2026.

Christopher was the son of Charlotte Valesky and the late Peter Mumink Jr. He was a graduate of Pennsville High School and had a lifelong love for cars. That passion grew into a career as a highly skilled transmission specialist. During his time working at Eakins Groff Pontiac Buick GMC (originally known as Eakins Groff) in Penns Grove, New Jersey, Christopher earned professional certifications and developed the knowledge and expertise that would shape his career.

Eventually, Christopher took his experience and passion a step further by opening and operating his own business, Overhaulen Transmissions, in Deepwater, New Jersey, near Slapes Road. His dedication to his trade and love for automobiles allowed him to turn something he genuinely enjoyed into his life’s work. He took pride in his mechanical abilities and the business he built through years of hard work and experience.

Above all, Christopher was known for his incredible sense of humor. He had a way of making just about anyone laugh, often with his quick wit and famously inappropriate sense of humor. He could turn an ordinary moment into one filled with laughter, and those who knew him will undoubtedly remember his jokes, his personality, and the laughter he brought into their lives. Christopher had a sense of humor that wasn’t always appropriate, but was always unforgettable. He could make anyone laugh, often when they least expected it.

Those closest to Christopher will also remember one of his favorite sayings: “You’ll get it when I get it.” A phrase that, much like his humor, will surely live on through the memories and stories shared by those who loved him.

Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Peter Mumink Jr.; his three brothers, Peter Mumink III, Mark Mumink, and Bryan Mumink; and his beloved grandparents, Peter Mumink Sr., Iris Sharpe, and Philomena Mumink, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

He leaves behind his loving mother, Charlotte Valesky, and his stepfather, Steve Valesky; his beloved children, his daughter, Paige Mumink, and his sons, Robert Plale and Stone Mumink; his cherished grandchild, Atlas Lance; his niece and nephews, Ariel Mumink, Bryan Mumink Jr., Markie Mumink, and Brandon Mumink; his aunt, Salley Hernz, and uncle, Bill Hernz; his uncle, Ed Sharpe; his cousins, Sophia Mahop, Zach Yuen, Steven Sharpe, and Keith Sharpe; his future son-in-law, Mark Dolbow; and his dear friend and best friend, Pat Beals, who held a special place in his life.

Christopher will be remembered for his love of cars, his dedication to his trade, the business he built, his unmistakable humor, and the unforgettable personality that made him who he was. Though he will be deeply missed, the laughter he shared, the work he took pride in, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
