Arlene M. DeFrancisco passed away from a long term illness on April 25th, 2026 surrounded by her family at her home in Elmer, New Jersey. She was born and raised in Pittsgrove Township at Pennytown Farm. She is survived by her two daughters Debbie (Tom) Flanagan of Marietta, Georgia and two grand-daughters, Kelly and Hailey. Her daughter Karen (Clayton) West of Pittsgrove, grandson Anthony (Amber) West, three great-grandchildren (Aiden, Emmitt and Lacey). Once married and best friend, John DeFrancisco. Her brother-in-law, Guenter Schmidt, and nephews Brian and Adam. Arlene worked at the Cumberland County Prosecutorโ€™s Office and retired as legal administrative assistant. She was known for her baking, especially Snickerdoodles. She was an active and proud member / officer of the Oddfellows / Rebekah Lodge for many years. She enjoyed traveling to spend time with family and friends. Arlene was an avid Eagles fan and loved to go to Ocean City, dancing and shopping. She was a member of the Olivet Methodist Church and a graduate of Bridgeton High School, Class of 1961. She was predeceased by her parents Leslie and Anna Johnson, sisters Joanne Johnson and Judy Schmidt, and baby sister Josephine. She was also predeceased by her niece Jennifer Schmidt. The family plans to have a celebration of life at a later date. Arlene will be interred at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, in Elmer, New Jersey.
