Previously, we have reported the slaying of 59 Year Old, Jacqueline Martin of Lee Street, Woodstown, suffering from gunshot wounds to the head that occurred on May 31st, 2026 at 5:31 PM.
The Woodstown Police Department has released that there was a domestic dispute just prior to the killing. As a result of their investigation, the suspect was identified as 27 year-old Leroy L Martin Jr. An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect, who has been charged with the following offenses. Murder 2C:11A(1), Criminal Restraint 2C:13-2A, and Possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose 2C:39-4A(1).
On June 4th, 2026 Leroy L Martin Jr. was taken into custody by US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force in Camden County and was lodged in the Salem County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
The case remains under investigation by the Woodstown Police Department in conjunction with the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office.
All Charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

SALEM — -A fugitive wanted for the murder of his aunt in Woodstown has been apprehended in Camden following a coordinated effort between the U.S. Marshals Service, the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office, and local law enforcement partners.
Leroy Martin, Jr., 27, of Woodstown, New Jersey, was wanted on charges of murder, criminal restraint, and weapons offenses in connection with the May 30, 2026 killing of 59-year-old Jacqueline Martin.
At approximately 5:31 p.m. on May 30, Woodstown Police Department officers were dispatched to 51 B Lee Street for a well-being check. Upon entry, officers discovered Jacqueline Martin deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators determined that Martin Jr., who lived with the victim and is her nephew, had been involved in a domestic dispute with her immediately before the shooting. He fled the residence in her vehicle moments after the killing.
The victim’s vehicle was recovered the next day, May 31, in the City of Camden. Investigative efforts subsequently revealed that Martin Jr. had been moving through portions of Salem, Gloucester, Camden, and possibly Cumberland Counties while attempting to evade apprehension
After several days of continuous investigative work, Martin Jr. was located and apprehended today in Camden, New Jersey. The arrest was made without incident by members of the U.S. Marshals NYNJ-Regional Fugitive Task Force, which is comprised of law enforcement officers from the U.S. Marshals, Salem County Prosecutor’s Office, Salem County Sheriff’s Office, New Jersey State Police, NJ Department of Corrections, NJ State Parole, Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Camden County Police Department, Pennsauken Police Department, Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department, and the Atlantic City Police Department
“This arrest reflects the value of strong law enforcement collaboration combined with tireless effort and attention to emerging leads,” said the Salem County Prosecutor Kristin J. Telsey. “We thank the U.S. Marshals Service, the Woodstown Police Department, and the investigators of the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office for their relentless efforts to ensure the safety of the public.”
Acting U.S. Marshal Nicholas Ricigliano added, “The Camden and Atlantic City Teams of the US Marshals NYNJ-Regional Fugitive Task Force worked tirelessly since Martin was identified as the alleged perpetrator of this murder to take him into custody. Today’s safe arrest of Martin, who was armed with a firearm at the time of the arrest, is a testament to the skill and bravery of this task force.”
Martin Jr. will be held at the Salem County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.
