David Coneeny, 91, of Woodstown, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026.

Born in Woodbury, New Jersey, David was the son of the late Francis Edward and Marion J. (Tallon) Coneeny. A 1952 graduate of Penns Grove High School, he distinguished himself as a gifted athlete, earning varsity letters in football, basketball, and track. He was named a Tri-County All-Star in both football and track and received All-South Jersey Group II honors in football. His passion for athletics continued long after high school, as he played and coached semi-professional football from 1954 to 1962 with the Blue Raiders and Swedesboro Devils. He also played basketball with the Black Hawk hoopsters and at Kamp Karney. David's love of mentoring young athletes led him to found and become the first coach of the Penns Grove Hawks Midget Football team. In recognition of his outstanding athletic achievements and contributions to the community, he was inducted into the Penns Grove High School Hall of Fame in 2002.

Following high school, David proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He served with the famed 82nd Airborne Division, the 187th Regimental Combat Team (Rakkasans), and the Military Police while stationed at Camp Chickamauga in Beppu, Japan.

From an early age, David understood the value of hard work, from his family's business, Coneeny's Store in Carneys Point, throughout his elementary and high school years. He later enjoyed a long and successful career as a Laboratory Technician at DuPont Chambers Works, retiring after 39 years of dedicated service.

David embraced life with enthusiasm and cherished time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed golfing at Holly Hills and Sakima Country Club, where he was an honorary member. He enjoyed and had fond memories of numerous group golf trips throughout the East Coast. He loved fishing, woodworking, tending his vegetable garden, and spending time at the Jersey Shore, especially Whale Beach, Strathmere, Avalon, and Cape May. He also enjoyed skiing throughout Pennsylvania, New England, and Colorado, as well as taking cruises and memorable road trips throughout the South and Northeast.

David was a proud member of the Servicemen's Memorial Home and Woodstown Moose Lodge #932, and VFW.

Above all, David was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol (née Martelli); his daughters, Christine Coneeny and Cheryl Coneeny-Wright and her husband, Anthony; his grandchildren, Ashley Pelura-Bennett and her husband, Ryan, and Taylor Graham; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Dylan Rose Bennett and Tyler Ashley Bennett.

In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brother, Francis J. Coneeny.

Charles James "Chal" Wallace, of Pennsville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife Sharon and his children on June 24, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on September 10, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Chal lived a life defined not by wealth or recognition, but by hard work, unwavering devotion to his family, and a heart that never stopped giving.

He was the beloved son of the late Elizabeth (Seltner) Wallace and James Wallace, devoted husband of nearly 55 years to the love of his life, Sharon (Flemming) Wallace, loving father to Charles (Cynthia) Wallace, Jeffrey (Courtney) Wallace, Dennis (Cindy) Wallace, Holly (Michael) Booth, and Amy (Igor) Grimberg; cherished Pop Pop to Jessica Ferrau, Charles Wallace, Gabrielle Wallace, Mackenzie Wallace, Jeffrey Wallace, Jared Wallace, Juliet Wallace, Richard Way, Ava Grace Way, Johanna Way, Thomas Booth, Kendall Booth, Charlie Grimberg, Lennox Grimberg, Colin Wallace, Sean Wallace, Erin Wallace, Megan Wallace, and Caitlin Wallace and beloved Great Grand Pop Pop to Paislei Dawson and Henry Wallace and long-time favorite companion and best friend to his dog Arlo.

He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Jim, Joe, Annie, Liz, Phyllis, and Tom, and is survived by his siblings, Fran, Mike, Rose, Dot, and John.

For his entire working career, Chal proudly drove for Wricley Nut Company in South Philadelphia, a job he truly loved. His work ethic was extraordinary. When times were tough, he never hesitated to take on extra work, delivering pizzas in Fishtown, painting boats at the shipyard, or doing whatever was necessary to provide for his family. Though money was often scarce, he and Sharon made certain that all five of their children received a Catholic school education, believing that opportunity, faith, and values were worth every sacrifice. His family meant the world to him and his unwavering hard work and sacrifice made sure that none of them ever did without.

Raising his family in Philadelphia's Fishtown neighborhood, the Wallace children always knew when Dad was coming home. Long before they saw him, they heard the unmistakable rumble of the old wood-paneled station wagon he somehow always managed to keep running. It wasn't new or flashy, but it was dependable, just like the man behind the wheel.

Chal was rugged, resourceful, and incredibly handy. If something needed fixing, he could fix it. If he had never built it before, he'd figure it out. He was the neighbor everyone knew, the friend everyone respected, and the man who was always willing to lend a hand. It wasn't uncommon to hear someone call out, "Hey, Chal!" followed by a conversation that lasted much longer than Sharon had planned. She may have rolled her eyes from time to time, but together they were the perfect balance, two people whose differences somehow made them an even stronger team.

Their story began more than 55 years ago while working together at Father & Son's Pizza on Kensington Avenue. They built a beautiful life together, one rooted in loyalty, sacrifice, laughter, and unconditional love. Later in life, after years of putting everyone else first, Chal fulfilled a dream by buying his first Harley Davidson Sportster before eventually upgrading to the Heritage Softail he cherished. Some of his happiest moments were spent riding the country roads of Salem County and beyond with Sharon, the two of them looking less like grandparents and more like two young people falling in love all over again.

To his grandchildren, he wasn't simply their Grandfather, he was their “Pop Pop”. They were his greatest joy, and there wasn't a conversation that lasted very long before he found a way to tell someone about one of them. His quick wit, legendary sense of humor, playful banter, and unconditional love created memories they will carry for the rest of their lives.

Chal wasn't a perfect man, and he never pretended to be. He expected a lot from his children, believed in accountability, and worked hard to keep them on the right path. Looking back, they understand that every lesson, every sacrifice, and every expectation came from a place of deep and unwavering love. If anyone in his family ever needed him, they knew he was only a phone call away.

In the end, his greatest accomplishment wasn't measured by the miles he drove, the things he built, or the countless hours he worked. It was the family he loved so completely and the example he quietly set every single day. His heart was pure. His love for his family was unparalleled. His journey through life was rich with purpose, humility, laughter, and substance.

For those who loved him, perhaps the best way to remember Chal is this: for years, you could hear that old wood-paneled station wagon coming long before you ever saw it. In much the same way, his presence will continue to be felt long after he has gone. Just like that rumble of that old wood-paneled wagon, everyone who loved him will always know he is never far from home . His lessons, his laughter, his strength, and his love will echo through generations of Wallaces yet to come and his memories will forever live within the hearts of so many of the loved ones that he touched.

Barbara Ann Ericson (Ransdorf), age 83, of Pennsville, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 21, 2026, in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born May 30, 1943, in Renovo, Pennsylvania. She was the only child of her beloved parents, Jennings R. and Margaret P. Ransdorf. She shared a powerful, loving bond, and immense closeness with them throughout her life. Even after their passing, she held tightly to their memory every day, portraying the values and love they gave her, in her own life as a wife, mother and grandmother.

Barbara graduated from Lock Haven State College in 1965 with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. She was an exceptional teacher touching the lives of her students for 32 years in Lancaster, PA, Long Island, NY, and at the John Fenwick Elementary School in the Salem City School District where she spent the majority of her career. During her time at the John Fenwick School, Barbara taught in various capacities but is most known for important work in developing a Pre-Kindergarten program for 4-year olds which still exists today. Barbara was named Teacher of the Year in the State of New Jersey, John Fenwick School Teacher of the Year, as well as the overall Salem City District Teacher of the Year, during her illustrious career.

Barbara shared a beautiful, vibrant life with her beloved husband, Paul F. Ericson. The couple wed in 1965 and built a devoted marriage that spanned 36 years until Paul's passing in 2001. Together, Barbara and Paul shared a love for dancing, skiing, exploring, and entertaining. They enjoyed dressing up in their finest attire for fancy date nights to the theater, dancing, or fine dining. Barbara and Paul were blessed with three children. They are survived and lovingly remembered by their daughter, Samantha Ericson Turner, and her husband Jason of Blythewood, South Carolina, and their daughter Danielle Ericson Hitzel, and her husband Lewis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Barbara was predeceased in death by their youngest child, Christopher Ransdorf Ericson, who held a special piece of her heart. The loss of her son was a profound sorrow, and Christopher's memory remained a deeply cherished, sacred piece of her heart every single day. Barbara was an exceptional mother, who led by example and taught her daughters to be strong, resilient, and independent women. She was exceedingly patient and deeply loving, yet possessed a fierce protectiveness and strength for her children.

Barbara's most cherished role was that of GramB to her 4 granddaughters, Addison and McKenzie Hitzel, and Mollie and Sarah Turner. GramB was a staunchly devoted grandmother who lived for her family and truly enjoyed every single moment she could with her granddaughters. Despite the 3 and 10 hour drives to visit, she enjoyed volunteering and reading in their classrooms, taking them to the beach, going on adventures, reading to them, and taking them to the theater and museums. GramB taught them that sometimes it's ok to have ice cream for dinner. She poured endless love, fun, and magic into their childhoods, creating beautiful memories that her granddaughters will carry in their hearts forever.

Barbara had many deep friendships that spanned across the years and places in her life. She had a very special, loving companion for the last 18 years, Richard Miller of Lock Haven, PA. They enjoyed PENN STATE football games, going to the beach, activities with friends, movies, and quiet nights at home.

Barbara had a great love of music of all genres and enjoyed this love with her granddaughters. She enjoyed traveling with friends, rooting for Penn State football and all of her granddaughter's college football teams, and spending time at the beach with family in Avalon, Cape May and Charleston, SC. She was an avid reader and enjoyed walking her cherished puppy, Harley, around the Riverview Beach Park.
