WOODSTOWN — This weekend’s Woodstown Fall Festival has been canceled due to predicted rain and high winds, organizers announced Friday.
The event, normally held rain or shine, was called off out of concern for the safety of vendors and patrons, according to a statement posted to the festival’s Facebook page.
“We know how much effort and planning our vendors put into events like this so this decision was not made lightly,” organizers said. “But for the safety of everyone it is the best call.”
Vendors were expected to be contacted Friday, according to the post. Vendors who plan to return next year and have already paid can apply that payment as credit toward next year’s event.
Organizers are encouraging residents to still come out and support Woodstown’s local businesses this weekend, noting that many had also been preparing for the busy Saturday.
