SALEM CITY – The Salem Police Department responded to 912 total incidents in July, according to the department’s monthly nature-of-incident report — up from 848 in June. The report includes one homicide, the department’s most serious incident of the month. Below is a full breakdown of incidents, excluding a handful of purely administrative record-keeping categories.

These categories account for 769 of the 912 total incidents logged in July. The remaining 143 incidents consist of Matter of Record (38), MV/DL Look-Ups (43), Background Investigation (28), Repossession (12), Lock Jock/Vehicle Lockout (12), MV Crash No Injury (9), and OPRA Request (1).

Editor's Note: We have contacted The City of Salem, Salem City Police, and the Salem County Prosecutor's Office multiple times about the murder incident which allegedly took place on the early hours of July 14th but never received any information or further details.
