Walter Wayne Neher

September 11, 1965 - April 22, 2026

Services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098. The family will begin to greet those who wish to pay their respects starting at 9 AM, with the service to follow at 11 AM. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. Walter Wayne Neher, age 60, of Pittsgrove, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. He was born on September 11, 1965 in Elmer, NJ. He is survived by his wife, Deborah “Debbie” (McConomy); daughter, Megan (Brian); sons, Wayne and Ryan; brothers George and Jimmy; many in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Harry, Sr. and Dora (Crumb); his brother, John; and his sisters, Maryann, Louise, and Donna. He was a 1983 graduate of Arthur P. Schalick High School. In his youth, he was an avid baseball and football player.

After high school, Wayne went into the autobody trade, but found his true calling in plumbing. On December 22, 1988, he met the love of his life, Debbie. They were married in 1991 and together they raised three children and the numerous animals they came across, never turning away a stray. One of those strays, a dog he named Doug, became his little buddy.

The word stranger was not in Wayne’s vocabulary; a stranger was just a friend he hadn’t met yet. No matter where he went, he found someone to share a conversation with. Wayne will be remembered for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was always willing to help any person or animal in need.
