A graveside funeral service will be held at 11am on June 22, 2026 at Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown, NJ.
Steve Chomo Jr., age 82, of Dover, DE, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026.
He was born on September 2, 1943 in Penns Grove, NJ, to Steve Chomo and Angeline (Kradziecki) Chomo. He graduated from Penns Grove High School and joined the Navy.
After leaving the Navy, Steve worked for a time at Green’s Auto, where he met the love of his life, Barbara, who was getting her hair done at the beauty shop upstairs. They married on April 24th, 1970. He went on to work for Atlantic City Electric in Deepwater, NJ until his retirement. Steve and Barbara raised their family in Carneys Point, NJ, before moving to Dover, DE in 2000.
Steve is survived by his wife, Barbara (Blizzard) Chomo and his children, Delbert Holmes (Stefanie), Ronald Holmes, Steve Chomo III (Denee), and Cynthia Martin (Nelson). He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Those who knew Steve will remember his sense of humor and generosity. He always wanted to help people in any way he could, and left an impression on everyone he met. Steve enjoyed fishing and cars, hobbies that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him.
