Linda S. (Hillyer) Clifford

January 26, 1942 - September 14, 2026

A memorial visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM on Thursday, September 24 in the H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown. A graveside service will follow at 1 PM in Eglington Cemetery, 320 Kings Highway in Clarksboro.

Linda Sell Hillyer Clifford, age 84 of Upper Pittsgrove, died Monday, September 14, 2026 in Mullica Gardens in Harrison Township.

Born on January 26, 1942 in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Robert Leroy & Ruby Elizabeth (Sell) Hillyer. Linda attended elementary school in Bridgeton then Wenonah and graduated from Woodbury High School in 1960. She married Philip L. Clifford Sr. on November 24, 1962. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodbury, a volunteer with the Pioneer Girls, a member of the Eastern Star – Pitman chapter, a member of the DAR, volunteered with the Children of the American Revolution, was an EMT, and a member of the Magna Carta. She loved horses, dogs, reading, the ocean, and her family!

Linda is survived by her husband of 64 years, Philip; her children, Philip L. Clifford Jr. (Dawn), Kevin M. Clifford, and Linda L. Clifford Gentile; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Elizabeth J. Purchase; and her brother, Richard W. Hillyer Sr. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert L. Hillyer Jr.
