Evelyn Ruth Volkmar

A graveside service will be held for Evelyn at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 30th in the Pittsgrove Baptist Cemetery, 368 Daretown Road in Daretown. Evelyn Ruth Volkmar, age 75 of Vineland, formerly of Daretown, died Thursday, May 21, 2026 in Spring Oak Assisted Living.

Born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Harry & Opal (Russell) Volkmar, she was a lifelong resident of Daretown. Evelyn was a 1968 graduate of Woodstown High School, and she had worked for Hygrade Industry in Pennsville for a short time, where pastries and snacks were made, before starting her career at Friends Village in Woodstown, where she worked as a geriatric aide for 32 years before retiring early to take care of her father and later her mother. She loved shopping and visiting yard sales, and she was an animal lover, especially her cats. Evelyn was a sweetheart; she never knew a stranger and would immediately make lifelong friends. She was always helping others before herself.

Evelyn is survived by her cousins, Marilyn Marich, Gary Trull, Eleanor Harvey, and Donna Shaw, as well as many other cousins, extended family members, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, David Volkmar, and her cousin, Brent Trull.
