Anna Mae Pierson

December 27, 1934 - September 10, 2026

Friends and family are invited to visit Sunday evening, September 20th from 4-6 PM and Monday morning, September 21st from 10-11 AM in the H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown, with funeral services starting at 11 AM on Monday morning. Burial will follow in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.

Anna Mae Pierson, age 91 of Marmora, NJ died peacefully at home on Thursday, September 10th, 2026.

Born in Woodstown, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna (Patterson) Patrick. Anna attended Woodstown High School through the 10th grade. She worked in the Richman Ice Cream Factory in Sharptown, as a waitress in Salem, at Anchor Hocking in Salem, as a cashier at Ames in Pennsville, and as a dishwasher at Riverview Inn Restaurant in Pennsville. She enjoyed shopping, camping, country music, dancing, crafting and playing games on her tablet.

Anna is survived by her five children, Darlene Friedman, Sharon McCarson (Raymond), Esther Pierson, Dolores Brown (Stephen), and Penny Sebastian; her seven grandchildren; her eight great-grandchildren; her two great great-grandchildren; and her two sisters, Betty Williams and Joyce Anthony. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester Roy Pierson, her grandson Steven Wilbraham, four brothers, and six sisters.
