William Robert Malusis, 79, of Pennsville, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of his family and beloved wife, Barbara , by his side.
Born in Penns Grove, NJ, on June 30, 1947, to Celia and John Malusis, Bill was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1965 graduate of Pennsville Memorial High School. In 1966, he was drafted into the United States Army and honorably served for two and a half years, stationed in Germany. After returning home, Bill began a 31-year career with Atlantic Electric, retiring in 2002.
Bill took pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and attention to detail. He carried those same qualities into everything he did, whether he was working, spending time outdoors, or taking on a project at home.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, trapping, and fishing and was skilled at working with his hands. He was a long-standing member of the Salem County Sportsman Club. Bill had a natural ability to fix, build, and figure things out. If something needed to be done, he was usually the one others could count on to get it done.
Bill was also someone who was always willing to lend a hand. He gave his time and skills freely and was a dependable and loyal friend to many. He didn’t need recognition for the things he did; helping others was simply part of who he was.
Family was most important to Bill. He and Barbara shared 60 years of marriage, building a life together centered around their family and long-life friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who valued the people closest to him.
Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara Anne (Baevsky); his daughter, Jaclyn (Santucci), his granddaughter, Josephine Cecilia; his sister, Sandra Hefner and her husband, Jim; his brother, John Malusis, and his wife, Leah. He was predeceased by his daughter, Gayle, and his son-in-law, Anthony Santucci.
Bill will be remembered for his hard work, practical nature, willingness to help others, his love for the outdoors, and most of all, his dedication to his wife and family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him dearly.
“The mountains are calling and I must go.”
