A graveside funeral service, for friends and family, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 23, 2026, at East View Cemetery, Salem, New Jersey.
Sherwood F. Lloyd III passed away peacefully at his home on July 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 27,1938, in Salem, New Jersey, Sherwood was a graduate of Salem High School and later attended Guilford College in North Carolina.
In 1958, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served in Nebraska and completed his military career in Seoul, Korea.
Following his service, Sherwood dedicated over 35 years of employment to Mannington Mills.
He was an avid golfer who deeply loved the game and his friends. He was a devoted member of Sakima Country Club for more than 40 years. Sherwood was also a member of the Eagles Club, in Salem.
Sherwood is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia โPatsyโ (Crossen) Lloyd. He is survived by his three children: Monica Maxwell (Chris) of Carneys Point, NJ; Sherwood F. Lloyd IV of Pedricktown, NJ; and Jacqueline Fahr (Dale) of Carneys Point, NJ. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren and sister, Joyce Sherwood of Sewell, NJ, along with his beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, Sherwood F. Lloyd Jr.and Mary Lloyd.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, devotion to his family, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.
Throughout Sherwoodโs leukemia journey this past year, his family remained profoundly grateful to all the anonymous donors whose lifesaving blood transfusions sustained him.
Sherwood faced each challenge with grace, gratitude, and unwavering strength.
