Mary Ida Beard Weiser Obituary Mary Ida Beard Weiser, formerly of Pennsville, New Jersey, was born on April 10, 1922, in Woodbury, New Jersey. She was the eldest daughter of four children of Florence Cowgill and Mortimer Barry Beard. She passed away on June 15, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after 104 wonderful and active years.
Mary graduated from Woodbury (New Jersey) High School, Class of 1940. She worked briefly as a bookkeeper until she met the love of her life, Charles M. Weiser. They were married in 1942 and enjoyed 59 years of marriage, living in Paris Island, SC, then Salem, NJ, and finally Pennsville, New Jersey, until Charles death in 2000. She moved to Venice, Florida in 2002. In 2022, Hurricane lan destroyed her home, and she moved in with her daughter, Joyce Logan, and family in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mary was devoted to raising her family. She was very active with her children and served as troop leader for both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She and Charles were a family sponsor with the American Field Service. She remained in close contact with her AFS children, Rafael Banon of Spain, and Silvia Gimenez of Argentina.
Mary loved everyone, and if she didn’t, as she said, she would just avoid them. Memorial Day was always the day she hosted the family and friends’ picnic at their Pennsville home, often entertaining up to 100 people. She loved to talk, and was an excellent cook, even when she was over 100 years. She took great pride in taking care of others, keeping up on what was going on in the world, looking good, and loving her family.
Mary is predeceased by her parents, Mortimer and Florence Beard, her brother Bill Beard (Norma), and sisters Florence Riggs (Roy and Margaret Mcilvaine (Fred), and great-grandson Samuel Bryden Logan. Her daughter, Gloria Gail Weiser (Tulsa) passed just nine days before her.
She is survived by her children: son C. Barry Weiser and wife Carol (Woodstown, NJ, daughter Joyce and husband Mike Logan (Tulsa, OK), grandchildren Sean Weiser and wife Carla (Austin, TX), Aaron Weiser (West Chester, PA), Kate Logan Hartman and husband Justin (Tulsa, OK, and Adam Logan and wife Allison (Dallas, TX), great-grandchildren Gage and Jaxon Weiser, Reese and Camryn Hartman, John and Charlie Logan, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
