Jean Dorsey Norman, age 81, of Millville, New Jersey, departed this life on September 5, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her home and family.

Born on August 9, 1945, in Essex County, Virginia, Jean was the beloved daughter of James Norman, Sr. and Mary Belle Washington.

Jean’s journey through life was marked by her enduring love for family and her unyielding spirit. Though her parents, brother Howard U. Norman, daughter Dion M. Norman, and niece Bridgette Ledbetter predeceased her, their presence forever remained in her heart. A soul deeply connected to the simple pleasures of life, Jean found joy in the gentle embrace of nature. She savored afternoons sitting on the porch or enjoying a peaceful moment at the park, often accompanied by her sister-in-law, Beatrice Norman, known affectionately as Bea. An avid crocheter, Jean would often lose herself in her craft while enjoying the timeless allure of westerns on TV.

Jean’s gentle spirit and unwavering smile were a testament to her resilience and warmth. Her legacy of love, kindness, and humor will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
