James “Jim” Fleming, 71, of Pilesgrove, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, Jim was the son of the late Michael J. and Frances R. Fleming.
Jim was a graduate of Bishop Ford High School and later earned his Bachelor of Science degree in teaching from Brooklyn College. Jim was a New Jersey-licensed optician in Pennsville. He shared many a joke and sports commentary with his patients from 1982 to 2022. More than anything, however, his family was the center of his life. His daughters, Rose and Francine, and his five grandchildren were truly his pride and joy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Fleming; his daughters, Rosemarie Fleming-Averyt (Daniel) and Francine Fleming-Wendowski (Kevin); his sisters, Maryann Meunier and Maureen Monaco (Carlos); and his five cherished grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brother, Michael Fleming and his wife, Geraldine, as well as his brother-in-law, Thomas Meunier.
