Douglas A. McCormick, age 66, of Alloway, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Mannington on October 2, 1959, he was the son of the late Bacon and Arienda (Keen) McCormick. A lifelong resident of Alloway, Doug spent his childhood as an active Boy Scout and fondly recalled many days spent roaming the neighborhood with friends. He was a 1977 graduate of Woodstown High School and furthered his education at Vo-Tech, specializing in masonry.

Doug dedicated over 20 years of service as a lab technician at Lubrizol in Pedricktown before his retirement. An avid athlete, he was an active member in the adult Civic Softball League, playing for Hanna’s, Sparks Electric, and Peele’s Place. He found great joy in fishing, motorcycle riding, and golfing, and was a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Above all, his greatest joy was the time he spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Cheryl (Paleschic) McCormick; his children, Andrew Stanton (Sandy), Melissa Morgado (David), Amanda McCormick-Sanderlin (Paul), and Vicky McCormick (Steve); his siblings, Debra McCormick and Donny McCormick (Marge); and his four cherished grandchildren, Autumn Seagrave, Allison Turner, Alexander Morgado, and Madelyn Morgado. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, David McCormick.
