Dorothy Mae "Dottie" Murphy

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad Street, Woodstown, New Jersey. A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Salem County Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Dottie’s memory to Grace Bible Church, 153 Burlington Road, Elmer, NJ 08318. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family through Adams Funeral Home.

Dorothy Mae “Dottie” Murphy of Monroeville passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026.

Born in Woodbury, New Jersey, Dottie was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Ida Mae Johnson Weidner. She was a graduate of Delsea High School and devoted much of her life to her faith, family, and community. Dottie served as a Sunday school teacher at Hardingville Baptist Church and was also a longtime member of Christ Community Baptist Church.

Dottie found great joy in caring for others. She loved cooking, especially when preparing meals for family and friends. Family gatherings, particularly during the holidays, were among her greatest pleasures. She also enjoyed decorating her home and spending time tending to her garden, creating a warm and welcoming environment for those she loved.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Carl; her daughter, Teri; her brother, Walter “Butch” Weidner and his wife, Cindy; her sister-in-law, Loretta Weidner; her nieces and nephews, Tina, Lori, Russell, and Lydia; as well as many other cherished family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Dottie was predeceased by her son, Robert, and her brother, Edward.
