Services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098. There will be a visitation starting at 10 AM leading to the funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Diane’s memory to the Salem County Humane Society, PO Box 214, Carneys Point, NJ 08069. Diane June Helms, 80, of Pittsgrove, NJ passed away on May 1, 2026. Born in Rockville Centre, New York, she was the daughter of the late Earl Franklin Craner and Alice Marion (Chase) Craner. When she was very young, Diane’s family moved to South Jersey and she was a graduate of Bridgeton High School. Over the span of her career, she worked for 15 years as a seamstress for the Seibel and Stern Sewing Factory in Bridgeton and another 15 years in Housekeeping for South Jersey Healthcare, first in the Bridgeton Hospital, then, for the most part, in the Elmer Hospital. When Diane was little, she enjoyed riding horses with her brother and, later in life, she enjoyed her Labrador Retrievers, camping, swimming and listening to music.

Diane is survived by her loving husband, Rich Helms Jr.; her children Brian Dawson (Tracy), Sherry Roach (Bobby), Ricky Dawson, Shanna Helms (Vinnie Wilson) and Kelly Lowe (Raul Fierro Vazquez); her siblings Richard Craner (Fay), Kevin Craner (Odette), Larry Craner, Donna Boyle (Michael Moore) and Patricia Pierce; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter in law Vicki Lynn Dawson and her sons in law Mike Lowe and John Neher.
