Debb passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, surrounded by her partner, siblings, and a close friend.

Though recently a resident of Newark, Delaware, Debb was raised in Pennsville, NJ and spent many years as a long term resident of Salem, New Jersey.

She was predeceased by her parents, Penrose and Margaret (McCurdy) Ecret, Jr., and her brother, Penrose Ecret III. Debb is survived and will be missed by her long term life partner, Lee Ann Edwards; her sisters, Carol Staub (James) of Bear, DE, and Wanda Kay Thompson of Pennsville; and her nieces and nephews, Cherish Poole (Rob), Kristi Datz (Brian), Ryan Brabson (Sara), Amity Williams, and Lacey Williams. She is also survived by several great and great great nieces and nephews.

Debb graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School and Cumberland County College. She served 43 years at the Pennsville Public Library. She was known for her literary knowledge, creativity, and artistic talent. She enjoyed traveling, reading, writing, participating in Pumpkin Carves, and was an active member of a Johnny Depp fan community and contributed to the Johnny Depp website.

Debb will be remembered for her kindness, her humor, and the deep love she held for her family.
