David Carl LaBree, of Pittsgrove, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at Inspira Medical Center Vineland following a brief illness, with his family by his side, at the age of 67. He was born on November 12, 1958, and was a lifelong resident of Pittsgrove.

David graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1977 and went on to attend Saint Andrews Presbyterian College, where he graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts. David worked most of his life for Seabrook Housing Corporation and Griffin Care. He was also a co-owner of the family business Rolling Repairs with his father, Neil.

Shortly after graduating from high school, David sustained a traumatic injury that left him paralyzed from the chest down. However, that did not stop David from living life to the fullest. He was one of the happiest and most positive people you could ever meet, despite the daily struggles he faced.

Nothing in the world made him happier than helping people. David would give the shirt off his back to help a stranger; he truly had a heart of gold. But he loved being a dad most of all. He was very family-oriented and always put his family first. He loved “his girls” more than anything. Nothing made him more proud than being their father and bragging about their accomplishments. David also loved taking trips to Ocean City with his daughters and always let their friends tag along if they wanted to.

David loved listening to rock ‘n’ roll, especially music from the 1970s, and was an avid Phillies fan. David loved going to concerts with his girls, especially Taylor. He also enjoyed watching HGTV with his daughter Taylor and trying to find DIY projects to do around the house with her husband, David.

David is survived by his two daughters, Rebecca LaBree and Taylor LaBree; Taylor’s husband, David Moore; and his unborn granddaughter, whom he was already so proud of. He is also survived by his father, Neil LaBree; his brother, Daniel LaBree (Sheryl); his former wife, Darla Hitzelberger (David); his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Weeks (Brett), Douglas LaBree (Jenica), Katelyn LaBree, and Lindsey Terra (James); his “little man,” Wesley Bingham; and too many other friends and “family” members to name.

He was predeceased by his mother, Alice F. LaBree; his mother-in-law, Lois Hannold; his father-in-law, John Hannold Sr.; and his brothers, Douglas LaBree and Neil LaBree. He was also predeceased by his heart dog, Ace, and his longtime friend and “son,” Derek Martin.

David will be remembered for his huge, loving heart; his ability to listen and give sound advice in any situation; and his love and dedication to his two daughters, who were his whole world.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. David would not have been able to live his beautiful life without the wonderful care he received at the facility following his tragic accident.
