David A. Davenport Sr., Ed.D, 84, of Mullica Hill passed on Monday, July 20th at Cooper Hospital. He was raised in Camden by his parents Edward and Margaret (Downes) Davenport.

David graduated from Rutgers University and later obtained his doctorate in School Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After teaching history at Shawnee High School, he led the Child Study Team in Pittsgrove Township from 1975 to 1998, after which he maintained a private practice in Woodstown from 1998 through 2025.

He was a world traveler, loved hiking and camping, and was a rabid Phillies and Eagles fan. He lived to tend to and serve others. Forever humble and self-deprecating, he was nonetheless the stoic and compassionate core of his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Denisse (nee: Anderson), his sons David Jr (Nancy), Daniel, and Kristofer (Caitlin), and his daughter Regan (Daniel). Devoted grandfather to Drew (Kelli), Deanna, Bennett, Ethan, Sofia, Luke, and Asher. David is also survived by his sisters, Sandra and Margaret. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Edward and Richard.
