It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Federanko, who left this world peacefully at his home on June 18, 2026, after an eight-year battle with cancer, which he faced with incredible strength and quiet determination.

Born on June 3, 1957, in Wilmington, DE, Dan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to family and community.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Donald Federanko Sr.; his mother, Evelyn “Wheatie” Pelura Inouye; his stepfather, Edwin Inouye; his mother-in-law, Virginia Russell; his brother-in-law, Jay Davis; his sisters-in-law, Kathy Dawson and Justine Dawson; and his beloved niece, Nila Dawson.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Debra Federanko, who stood by his side through life’s joys and challenges. Together, they built a life filled with faith, family, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

A proud father, Dan is remembered with love by his son Shawn (Amber) Lowe and his grandsons, Spencer and Evan Lowe, who were the light of his life. He was a caring brother to Donna (Russell) Stout, Darlene Davis, John Luthy, Donald (Amy) Federanko Jr., and David (Samantha) Federanko. Dan also leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Marc Dawson and Greg Dawson, along with many cherished aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and friends who will continue to carry forward his legacy of love and compassion.

Dan was a man who could do just about anything he set his mind to. He began his career by establishing Dan’s TV before moving into the construction and concrete industry. He later found fulfillment in his sales career with Tuckahoe Sand & Gravel, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of coworkers and customers alike through his integrity, dedication, and strong work ethic.

A man of deep and abiding faith, Dan was a faithful member of First Assembly of God for nearly 40 years and served as a deacon for more than 30 years. He led not only through words but through quiet acts of service, kindness, and humility. He was a founding board member of Bushels of Blessings, a Royal Rangers leader, and the recipient of Habitat for Humanity’s Foundation Award in recognition of his commitment to helping others.

Dan found joy in life’s simple blessings. He loved fishing and treasured every opportunity to spend time on the water with family and friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, and later became an avid golfer and gifted craftsman. Whether building, repairing, teaching, or lending a hand, Dan shared his talents freely and generously.

More than anything, Dan loved people. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. Whether offering practical support, a listening ear, or words of encouragement, he had a way of making others feel seen, valued, and cared for. His kindness, compassion, and servant’s heart left an impression that will not soon be forgotten.
