Alan Harry Wright, age 82, of Pennsville, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Alan was born at Salem Hospital on October 18, 1943, to the late Irene (Rowe) Donadio and William Wright. Growing up, Alan lived in Woodstown and enjoyed working on his Ford and playing football. He was the center for the Woodstown High School team and went on to play for the Clayton Eagles after his graduation in 1963. He later moved to Pennsville, where he lived until his passing but always remained a Woodstonian at heart. He was a devoted husband and father who loved reminiscing about the good ol’ days with anyone who would listen.

He spent many summers camping with his family and enjoyed riding mini motorcycles with his sons, Michael and Jeffery, while they were growing up. Alan also spent many weekends taking his daughter, Amy, to horseback riding lessons and 4-H rabbit shows. He liked researching lighthouses and visited many in New England, the Carolinas, and Michigan with his wife, Sharon.

Alan was employed by Chemical Leaman Tank Lines, Inc./Quality Carriers in Bridgeport, NJ, for 46 years and retired in 2012. After retiring, he enjoyed tinkering in his workshop, playing with technology, going to car shows and swap meets, relaxing, and spending time with family and friends, especially his Friday morning coffee crew.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 48 years (February 4), Sharon (Cox), sons, Michael (Deb) and Jeffery (Dawn), daughter, Amy, brother, Jake, and sisters, Susan (Frank), and Cheryl (Mike). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shae (Tristan), Rowan (AJ), Katie, and Maegan, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Nancy Cox, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was excited to welcome his first great-grandchild, Lorelai, in July. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Richard, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brad and Ruth Cox.
