Local Artist Highlight–The Collin Bunch Band
Collin Bunch is on fire! The frontman-bassist from Pennsville and his revolving band of fantastical musicians played a funky show at the Woodstown Tavern & Hotel last Friday night, June 5th. The week before he had five gigs in a row…. if you count church on Sunday. Collin is known for bringing his rhythmic entourage to the dance party, including Brady Little on drums, Eric Christian on the Hammond organ, and Jake Brightman of Crickets & Cicadas (the finest Dead Band in the Land) on guitar, just to name a few. Collin has a standing residency running the open jam at Woodstown Tavern every 5th Tuesday of the month. June happens to have one of them coming up on Tuesday, 6/30.
Word on the street is that The Gig Machine has him returning to lead the 2nd Annual Betty Morgan Blues Jam at The Plateau, just over the county line in South Harrison, on Thursday, June 18. He’s also making his debut in the weekend lineup for the big jam there on Saturday, June 20, at 9 pm. The Collin Bunch Band is scheduled as the headliner at The Queen in Wilmington on August 15, with Gooch and the Motion opening. You can always see him at Septemberfest, 9/12 this year, at Riverview Beach Park in Pennsville.
Mark your calendars for any and all of Collin’s upcoming gigs. He brings leads musicians like a groovy pied piper, only with a bass instead of a pipe. This is one act worth making some noise for, so come out and SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC!
