DESCRIPTION:Salem Community College will host a lecture as part of the Salem County 250 series of events celebrating the nation’s milestone anniversary.  \n\nDr. Walter Quint will present “Defense Along the Delaware River” on Thursday\, June 11 at noon in Davidow Hall. He will discuss Fort Billingsport and the “Chevaux de frise” blockade aimed at preventing British from entering Philadelphia via the Delaware River during the early part of the Revolutionary War.\n\nFort Billingsport -- now a small park located in Paulsboro\, just north of Salem County -- is a small but integral part of the story of the little-known Battle of Red Bank\, and ultimately\, the defense of Philadelphia during the American Revolution. \n\nThe lecture is free and open to the public.
